Lovic Blantern King
One of Nine Children
Army Private, Lovic Blantern King, joined the U.S. Army in January, 1916. Born on November 12, 1883, King was one of nine children in his family. He was assigned and stationed at Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia. King would later transfer to a field artillery division.Lovic would dieas many soldiers of World War 1, would, from pneumonia on April 7, 1919.
Although King did not come home alive, a community now honors the World War I, soldier.
An individual plaque honoring Lovic Blantern King will be installed in Griffin’s Historic District sponsored by Brian Upson.
